A few years ago, if you were trying to find information on how to do something you went to the book store and straight to the “____ for dummies” section, but with today’s blogs I find it hard to believe that you need to step away from the computer. Blogging has brought back the days of free information. However, sifting through the zillions of blogs out there to find a few worthwhile ones may prove to be far too much work for most people, so here are five of our favorite reads:
1. A personal favorite is www.coolmaterial.com. This is mainly a guide for men’s gifts, but the variety of featured products will keep anyone entertained for hours. My favorite feature of this blog, as opposed to others, is that they give you a link back to website of company that originally produced the product, which helps support small businesses!
2. If you are looking for some really unique products, check out www.holycool.net. This site does not sell the products it features, but it does provide you with information on where you can buy them. With that being said, most of the products link back to Amazon, which is why I prefer the coolmaterial site.
3. The third site I would suggest you check out (especially you fashionistas out there) is http://candicecabe.wordpress.com/. It is only a matter of time before the creator of this blog, Candice Cabe, hits it big time with her Day2Night Convertible Heels. The simple fact that you can pre-order a pair just by reading it is enough to keep me coming back!
4. For those of us that could always use some extra help when it comes to keeping up with today’s fashion trends… http://labeldoll.blogspot.com/ is the place for you! This blog will keep you up to date with all the latest designer looks. Why try to keep up with them yourself when they do it for you? It’s like having your own personal stylist!
5. If you are looking for an inspirational design type blog http://diaryofachair.blogspot.com/ is it. Written by a small town girl, the blog really captures her amazing eye for detail. Whether it be some great designs for your home or a family recipe she thought everyone should try, you will always get something out each entry. One read and you will know exactly what I’m talking about.
